BP&C’s three partners grew up where they work. They are well-known and respected CPAs and citizens, who have built stellar reputations for their work and civic activities.
Sonny Bowen, the firm’s founder and senior partner, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Georgia. He specializes in financial management and tax consulting, and leads the firm’s Healthcare Team.
Jane Freeman Phillips also holds a BBA in accounting from the University of Georgia. She joined the firm in 1986 and focuses her practice on tax planning and compliance, as well as medical practice consulting. The American Institute of CPAs has awarded her a Certificate of Educational Achievement in Taxation, and in November, 2000, Georgia’s Governor Roy E. Barnes appointed Jane to the Georgia State Board of Accountancy.
Tom Carmichael, another BBA from the University of Georgia, has been with the firm since 1989. He is BP&C’s audit partner with responsibility for BP&C’s quality control over all accounting and auditing engagements. Tom also provides management consulting and tax planning services for individuals and closely held businesses.
